Mystic tales

Mystic the name and spiritual the experience of Fartaritx. An experience that  leads us into a world beyond a simple appreciation of nature and instead makes us comprehend our connection with a world unknown to us.

To find out about the ancient legends one has to ascend a seemingly endless meandering path that leads along dense old holm oak and pine forests and through a rugged arid landscape with surrealistic rock formations sculptured by nature. Only when reaching the mountain ridge, one understands why the first prehistoric Balearic inhabitants endured the inaccessible hike up to Fartaritx where they could worship their deities and allow their deceased to make the transition between the world of the living and the world of the dead. They arrived at this remote part in the midst of a small mountain range that extends from north-east to south-west, where the district separates Pollença from Escorca at the height of the Puig de Ca pass to find a sanctuary.  A sanctuary of peace and biodiversity in a magic valley with breath-taking views nestled in the shadows of Cuculla de Fartàrtix,  the Ca de Míner hill and the large rock wall of the Tomir. This enchanting valley with its bizarre landscapes, caves and abundant sustenance for survival has drawn prehistoric cultures to expand Fartaritx´ spiritual importance over times. Here where natural spaces with strange formations speak about the past and the future, they encountered natural phenomena for spiritual stimulus and a unique conception of mystical experiences. Excavations of ceramics and a big structure discovered on top of the Coll de Mina let to believe that the area corresponds to a great ceremonial centre for the entire environment at the time.

We feel privileged to be able  to live and work in this peaceful habitat  seasoned with ancestry. For us as a family, Fartaritx embodies our relationship with the natural world where fertile soils, spring waters and wild flowers resonate with great power and healing.
